PRIDDY FOLK FESTIVAL 2020
Priddy Folk Festival is a registered charity run by volunteers. We organise a very family friendly festival in the beautiful Mendip Hills with great music and entertainment. The Festival raises money for local causes, such as promoting music and the arts and improving the environs of Priddy village.
2020 is the 29th Priddy Folk Festival, nurtured from a PTA fundraiser back in 1992. It now attracts international artists and visitors from all over the country, but we strive to keep the village feel that has given us the reputation as “the friendliest folk festival”.
There is plenty to do for all ages. Great music of course, but also meet the artist sessions, lots of craft stalls and food from a variety of cuisines. There will be Dance performances on both Saturday and Sunday in the Eastwater Marquee, with opportunities to participate. In case you need some courage for this there are our ever-popular Beer and Cider Tents!
There is lots of free entertainment outside of the main concert venues and a full day of free activities for children with the Children’s Festival in its own tent on the Green (children must be accompanied by an adult). Please note only guide/assistance dogs are allowed on site.
For the early risers on Saturday and Sunday morning there are free qi gong sessions. Dr Jodie Lewis will be conducting her fascinating guided archaeological walk of the area, and on Sunday morning at 9:30 the church will be holding a special festival church service.
Just outside the beautiful City of Wells a totally different experience awaits the visitor in July. Come for the weekend or just pop over for the day, 10, 11, 12 July 2020.
