“The Tempest” – Outdoor Theatre at The Bishop’s Palace
29th July 2018, 6pm
This summer, join The Lord Chamberlain’s Men, the UK’s premier all male theatre company, for Shakespeare’s spellbinding masterpiece, The Tempest, performed on the South Lawn at The Bishop’s Palace in Wells.
This play of soaring poetry, high comedy and tender love, Shakespeare’s late, great gem, examines the power of true love, our capacity for vengeance and what it takes to forgive.
“Be not afeared. The isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.”
Performed in the stunning open-air setting of The Bishop’s Palace Gardens, by an all-male cast with Elizabethan costumes, music and dance, this is undoubtedly one of the hottest tickets of the summer.
Bring a low backed chair or a rug and your own picnic, and enjoy a glorious summer evening with the finest entertainment.
